Hi all, and welcome to the new North Park Bicycle Shop website. We’ll be posting up how-to guides, notices for group rides, information on sales, reviews, and lots of other stuff, so feel free to subscribe to our RSS feed.

I'm not sure if piling your bikes together is a good theft deterrent, but it made sense at the time.

I suppose we should start with a little update on the shop. We had a busy winter season, and with the exception of the few times a few inches of snow locked all of Victoria indoors, it felt like business barely slowed down. During the fairly cold spring we spent a lot of time reorganizing the shop, building up custom Surlys and staying busy. Of course now that the good weather has hit us the shop feels like it is constantly humming with people.

We’ve been able to get a few good rides and barbecues in; we went out to Sidney a while back (of course stopping in at Sea Cider on the way home), and I got out to French Beach as well. I’m putting more and more trust into my Nexus8 internal hub. Marcel is just finishing up his Karate Monkey build, and he’s leaving on an epic bike trip at the end of the month. Hopefully he’ll write something up about his trip, and keep us updated. Victor will be joining him for the first week of July, so I’m expecting a ridiculously busy schedule around that time.
